Cheesy Turkey Burger

I absolutely love cheese, and what's better than an extra cheesy burger! I make this recipe all the time, and its definitely a favourite. If you're a fan of "Duck or Chicken à l'orange", this will definitely be a recipe you will love! And as a personal choice I added plantain fries on the side, I always love putting a Haitian twist wherever I can! This recipe makes 6 burgers so enough To feed a lot of people at low cost!



450g Ground turkey

2tbsp Soy sauce

2tbsp Sesame oil

2tbsp Lime juice

3tbsp Orange juice

2tbsp Sriracha

1/4tsp Chilli flakes

1tbsp Chilli powder

1/8tsp Pepper

1tbsp Bread crumbs

1 Egg

2 Limes (zested)

1 Orange (zested)

1 Lemon (zested)

10g Ginger

3 Garlic cloves

100g Low fat cheddar

15g Cilantro


-Preheat the oven at 350F.

-In a bowl put the ground turkey, the soy sauce, the sesame oil, the lime juice, the orange juice, the sriracha, the crushed chilli flakes, chilli powder, the pepper, the bread crumbs and the egg.

- Add the lime zest, the orange zest and the lemon zest.

- Grate the ginger, the garlic and the cheese in the mixture.

-Chop the cilantro and add it in.

-In a hot pan with oil, sear the patties for about 3 minutes each side.

-Finish cooking it in the oven for 10 mins

-Now taste this amazingness!

For the rest it’s up to you!

I added sautéed mushrooms, sliced cucumbers, Romain lettuce and swiss cheese.

For the fries showcased on the side, I made plantain fries in an air fryer!

Plantain fries

1 plantain

1tbs olive oil

Pinch of salt

Pinch of cumin


Method #1

-Peel and cut the plantain in little sticks.

-Toss the plantain in a bowl with the olive oil and the salt.

-Put them in the air fryer for 10 min.

-Take them out and toss them in a bow with the cumin.

-Now eat away!

Method #2

-Peel and cut the plantain in little sticks.

-Then simply fry the in hot oil until they’re cooked! (350F)

-Toss them in a bowl with the salt and the cumin.

-Then enjoy them!
