Italian Cheese Bread
That here would definitely be my definition of ; Simple but effective!
The bread is sooo good and tender, and the flavour is definitely there. It's extremely easy to make, you only need a few ingredients, The people in the WW family will definitely love it!
This recipe is just another example of why the "two ingredient dough" is your bestie! Hahah!
Hope you enjoy this one!
Ingredients
Dough
*IF YOU HAVE SELF RISING FLOUR, YOU CAN SIMPLY USE 1 CUP OF THAT TO REPLACE THE ALL PURPOSE FLOUR, THE BAKING POWDER AND THE SALT.*
1cup All-purpose flour
1 ½tsp Baking powder
½ tsp Salt
¾cup Plain yogurt (0%fat + 0%sugar)
40g Grated parmesan
20g Grated Cheddar
Olive Oil Mix
4 Garlic cloves (grated)
4tbsp Olive oil
1tbsp Dried Italian herb mix
Directions
Olive Oil Mix
-Grate the garlic in a small bowl.
-All the rest of the ingredients for this mix.
Dough
-Preheat the oven at 350F.
-In a bowl, mix the flour, the baking powder and the salt. (Or if you're using self rising flour, just put 1 cup of self rising in a bowl.)
-Make a well in the middle of the flour.
-In the well, add the yogurt, half of the parmesan and the cheddar.
-With a wooden spoon, mix starting with the middle and incorporating the flour gradually.
-Now, on a clean surface, spread a little bit of flour and put your dough on there to kneed.
-It might be a little sticky! Feel free to add a little bit of flour.
-Once you're sure everything is well incorporated, use a rolling pin to flatten the dough (about 1cm).
-Take a baking pan, put a parchment paper in it and spread a little bit the olive oil mix.
-Take your dough and put it over the parchment paper.
-Take the olive oil mix and spread it all over the dough.
-Spread the rest of the parmesan cheese on top.
-Put in the oven for 20 minutes.
-Now take it out.
-Cut it.
-And eatttttt!
PS: I rolled my dough thinner than 1cm in the pic, cause I like it better thinner (thin crust fan here! haha), but 1cm will be also very perfect!
