Sweet and Spicy Wings
Updated: Sep 27, 2020
Wings are just the best! They're the most satisfying when the sauce gives them that extra flavour and juiciness. My favourite wings are the sweet and spicy ones! With this recipe, you'll get a great balance of sweet and spice, and the sauce really is just to die for! After trying this wing recipe, you probably won't be buying frozen wings in a box anymore. You'll see how easy it is to make really amazing tasting wings without spending too much, plus they take almost no time to make!
What you need!
-Haitian spices
-Wings
Ingredients
Haitian Spices (everything blended together)
2 Garlic cloves
1 Green onion
1/2 Scotch bonnet pepper (optional)
1 Celery stick
10g Cilantro
1/2cup Olive oil
Wings
800g Wings
6tbsp Lime juice
6tbsp Honey
4tbsp Soy Sauce
3tbsp Sriracha
2tbsp Sesame oil
6 Garlic cloves
1 Green onion
10g Cilantro
1tsp Chili powder
1tsp Paprika
1tbsp Brown sugar
2tbsp Haitian spices
Directions
-Preheat the oven at 350F.
-In the food processor, put all of the ingredients except the wings (obviously hahah).
-Put the wings in a bowl, and pour the mixture of the ingredients over them.
-Mix well.
-In a baking pan, put all of the wings, without the marinade.
-Brush them with the marinate and insert in the oven for 10 minutes.
-In a saucepan, put what’s left of the marinade and let it reduce on medium heat.
-After 10 minutes in the oven, flip the wings and brush the other side with the reducing marinade.
-Put back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
-When the sauce is reduced enough, pass it through a strainer to make sure it’s not lumpy.
-Put it back in the saucepan to reduce until it’s thick and caramelized enough.
-Make sure your wings are cooked (After 10 minutes).
-If they are, put them in a bowl with the sauce and toss them.
-They can be eaten like that or you can put them back in the oven for about 2-3 minutes on broil setting to add a bit more colour and flavour!
-Now get this fingers dirty!
FYI, what you can do is let the wings marinate overnight, they will have more flavour!
Hope you enjoyed that recipe!
