Cauliflower Crust Pizza
Updated: Sep 17, 2020
Pizza is definitely "THE BOMB"! I had always heard of people talking about cauliflower crust pizzas, however I never had one. So in the midst of all these new recipes I'm trying out lately, I told myself "why not finally try a cauliflower crust"! So I got my hands dirty and figured out how to make one. I can't compare with other cauliflower crusts, but I was very pleasantly surprised at the fact that you hardly taste the cauliflower. It's really just like eating a normal pizza but with less carbs!
Hope you like it, and have fun choosing pizza toppings!
Ingredients
Cauliflower Pizza Dough
1 Cauliflower head
2 Eggs
2/3cup Grated cheese
1/8tsp Salt
1tsp Oregano
Directions
-Preheat your oven at 350F.
-Cut the cauliflower into florets and wash it.
-Put the florets in the food processor and blend until the cauliflower becomes as small as rice or couscous.
-Then put it in a bowl and pop it in the microwave for 10 minutes until it’s cooked. (A bit wet)
-Let it cool down until it’s cold enough to touch.
-When it’s cool enough, put it in a cheese cloth or a clean rag, and squeeze as much water as you can out of it.
-Now put the squeezed cauliflower in a bowl.
-Add all of the ingredients above and mix them well.
-Take your pizza pan and spread the dough evenly on the pan with your hands.
-Put it in the oven for 10 minutes.
-Now take it out and garnish your crust as you like!
You can use oil with Italian herbs and spices instead of tomato sauce. I personally loveeee a good tomato sauce on my pizza so I made one! You can use an already made canned pizza sauce or you could also make one. If you need a recipe for that, here’s mine!
Ingredients
Pizza Sauce
3 Medium tomatoes
7 Garlic cloves
1 Small red onion
1 Celery stick
1 Small carrot
3tbs tomato paste
1tbs dried oregano
5 Sprigs thyme
10 Basil leaves
1 cup Water
Salt
Directions
-In a hot pot with olive oil, put the crushed garlic, the minced onion, the minced celery and the peeled and minced carrot.
-Let them cook for about 2 minutes, the add the tomato paste.
-Mix everything well, then add the tomatoes, the dried oregano, the thyme and the basil.
-Now add the water, lower the heat and let it cook for about 20 minutes. (Make sure the carrots are cooked after the 20 minutes)
-Add some salt to taste.
-Put the content of your pot in your food processor and blend until it’s smooth.
-Press the sauce into a fine mesh strainer.
-Now put this beauty on your pizza crust!
